Brainstorming ideas for new cards

[edit]

General rules: Websites are lands. Users are summons spells (summon bot, summon vandal, summon troll, 'etc). Beyond that, use your imagination.

  • Request adminship (Sorcery, 3 colorless mana) Flip a coin. If it comes up heads, target non-admin creature becomes an admin. If it comes up tails, bury target non-admin creature. Raul654 04:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Plautus satire (Summon legendary troll, 5/1, RRBBB) - Creature does not experience summoning sickness. Bury any creature that blocks or is blocked by Plautus. If at the end of your turn, Plautus Satire is in play, bury Plautus satire.
    • Quote: "All sysops can communicate with each other using a back channel consisting of an unrelated web page and encrypted, predefined signals" -- Plautus Satire, 2004
  • Curps[bot] (Summon [bot], WWW, 1/1) - When Curps[bot] comes into play, bury any creatures of type vandal. No vandals may be cast while Curps[bot] is in play.
  • Blocked (Enchantment - Aura, W) - Kicker WWWWW and/or 2W, Fade 3, Enchant Creature. Blocked can only target a non-Administrator creature. Enchanted creature cannot attack or block, or use activated abilities. If the WWWWW kicker cost was paid, all creatures sharing a creature type with the enchanted creature cannot attack, block, or used activated abilities. If the 2W kicker cost was paid, Blocked instead can target any creature.
  • Cplot (Summon Legendary Troll, 0/1, (2)) - (tap) Tap target administrator.
    • Quote: EVIDENCE SUGGESTS CPLOT WAS BLOCKED FOR DISAGREEING WITH UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS — AND NOTHING ELSE - Cplot (2006)
  • Lord Emsworth (Summon legendary contributor, 1/1, GGG) - (tap) Put a 0/2 flying artifact featured article token into play. The token has "If this creature blocks or is blocked by another creature, destroy that creature at the end of combat."
  • NPOV (Instant, R) Counter target spell that targets a specific player, artifact, creature, enchantment, or land. Play one copy of that spell on each valid target.
  • MascotGuy (Summon MascotGuy, 0/1, U) This creature cannot block. tap: Put a blue 0/1 MascotGuy token into play under your control with the same abilities as this card.
  • Oversight (Instant, 3UU) Name a card. Remove all instances of that card in play or in any player's library, hand, or graveyard from the game.
  • Wikipe-Tan (Summon mascot, 0/1, U) Whenever an opponent plays a troll, that player loses 1 life.
  • WP:OFFICE - (Sorcery, RRRBBB) - Sacrifice a creature. Remove target article from game.
  • User warning (Enchantment, 1UR) - Whenever a creature attacks, put a user warning token on it. If any creature has five or more user warning tokens, it gains the ability "All creatures able to block it must do so".
  • Citizendium (Legendary Land) - When Citizendium comes into play, remove all articles, creatures, and lands in play from the game (except Citizendium). Each player's life is immediately set to 20. Start the game over. If Citizedium leaves play, the controller automatically loses.
    • Quote: Citizendium - because one Nupedia is never enough.
  • Andrew Orlowski (summon legendary troll, BBB, 3/1) (Tap) Place a +1/+1 on target troll. Orwloski gets +4/+4 if Wikitruth is in play.
  • Minor edit (Artifact, 0) Tap: Add 1/2 colorless mana to your mana pool.
  • WikipediaReview (land) - Every time a troll is buried, removed from play, blocked by an admin, or banned by the arbitration committee, put a troll counter on WikipediaReview. (Tap) - Remove 3 troll tokens from WikipediaReview, bury target administrator.
  • IRC (land) - (Tap) Counter target spell.
  • Copyright Paranoia (Sorcery, XUU): Search your library for X cards and reveal them. Opponents must bury any permanents in play and discard cards from their hand that share a name with the revealed cards, other than basic lands. Shuffle your deck afterwards.
  • AutoWikiBrowser (Artifact - Equipment, 2), Equipped creature gains Haste. (1): Untap equipped creature. Equip: Tap an Admin.
  • Sockpuppeteer (Creature, 2B, 1/1) (B): Put a black 0/1 Sockpuppet token into play. Whenever a Sockpuppet token leaves play, Sockpuppeteer takes 1 damage. When Sockpuppeteer leaves play, sacrifice all sockpuppet tokens.

Just a notice to anyone who wants to create a Magic card: There's a plethora of sites out there; I personally like http://mtgcardsmith.com/upload, although it shows hybrid cards as gold.
